Dan Jones is the Head of European Space Agency (ESA) Policy at the U.K. Space Agency, where he represents the UK’s official position on space matters in front of other European nations and the ESA itself.
Background
In his spare time Dan co-hosts Chronscast, the Fantasy, Science Fiction & Horror podcast, alongside the horror writer Christopher Bean and the fantasy author Peat Long, featuring guests from the world of writing, publishing and filmmaking. He is also the bass guitarist for the progressive metal band Sky Empire, which has so far released two well-received albums and is set to release its third, The Shifting Tectonic Plates Of Power Pt. 2, in 2027.
Dan’s debut novel, the tech-thriller Man O’War, was published in 2018, while The Green Man first appeared in 2025. His latest science fiction work, the cyberpunk thriller duology The Hole In The Sky was published in 2026. His work reflects ideas about belief, religion and the impact of new technologies on human relationships, and he writes across several genres.
Dan lives in Essex with his wife and two daughters, and their enormous British Shorthair cat.
