Memoir submissions
Publish a memoir
EnvelopeBooks has a special imprint called PostcardBooks which is reserved for memoirs. These are books which, in addition to dealing with personal histories, are unlikely to sell in commercial quantities.
Please note, though: we are not a vanity press, and we publish far less than we receive. The success rate for submissions is currently roughly one in twenty.
If your work is accepted
We invite you to submit your manuscript for assessment. If we like it, we will take you through a process of editorial liaison, giving advice and intervention as appropriate. We will also tell you honestly if your manuscript is not ready and if it is more suited to one of our other imprints.
How to submit
Send your manuscript directly to Maggie Bawden at books@envelopebooks.co.uk. Include a brief note about yourself and the book. That’s all we need — no forms, no hoops. We will read what you send and reply to you directly.
